Why Asia? It’s simple, I live in Asia. As I am trying to explore and understand Asia, I will update this blog and share with you.

Think about these few facts:

• Asia is the largest of the earth’s seven continents. With outlying islands, it covers an estimated 44,936,000 sq km (17,350,000 sq mi), or about 29.4% of the world’s total land area.
• Asia peoples account for about 60% of the world’s population; in the early 2007, Asia had more than 3.7 billion inhabitants.
• Asia has about 510 million internet users (2007), or about 38.7% of the world’s internet users.
• Asia has the highest mountain - Mount Everest in Nepal/China - 8,850 m (29,035 ft).
• Asia has the lowest point below sea level - Dead Sea in Jordan/Israel - 400 m (1312 ft).
• All 5 Star Airlines in 2008 ranked by SKYTRAX came from Asia. They are Asiana Airlines (South Korea), Malaysia Airlines (Malaysia), Qatar Airways (Qatar), Singapore Airlines (Singapore), Cathay Pacific Airways (Hong Kong) and Kingfisher Airlines (India). Click Here. [updated April 2, 2008]
